About Us
Hello, we're the Jantz family!
We live on 3-acres in beautiful NE Wisconsin in a home that is truly an answer to prayer and an incredible gift from God!
We value knowing where our food comes from and each of us plays a role in milking our dairy goat, raising our own meat, and growing our own vegetables--all that we get to enjoy around our table.
The Animals on Our Homestead
As we began our homestead in 2020, it was important to us that the animals we added to our homestead served a purpose or had a specific job. Yearly on our homestead, we raise Idaho Pasture Pigs for meat, chickens and ducks for eggs, chickens for meat, and goats for milk. We have a few barn cats that are in charge of outdoor critter control, and a couple rabbits and a hedgehog that belong to our daughters and provide lessons in responsibility and money management.
3 Reasons We Raise IPPs
-
Breed
We chose Idaho Pasture Pigs because we wanted to provide ourselves & our customers with a pork that was like a heritage breed. These pigs have proved to be cold hardy, pasture and family friendly, and a great fit for our family.
-
The Process
We slow grow our pigs using a mixture of feed made at our local feed mill, grazing on pasture, and a constant supply of locally grown hay. Unlike conventional pork, our pigs are market ready in 10-12 months.
-
Final Product
This is not the pork you'll find in your grocery store. Because of the breed and our process, our pork is tender, juicy, and delicious.
What we love best: THE FAT! It's of exceptional quality, melts in your mouth and doesn't leave a filmy residue like other fats.
